I can't believe how quickly February got here. The Purim Carnival Committee and the Social Justic Committee are excitedly planning for our Purim Carnival with a Cause that will take place on Sunday, March 20. We are thrilled that we will be bringing back some past favorites like the bounce house and the petting zoo while also keeping our social action opportunities like crayon recycling and Garden Isaiah planting.
Another VERY exciting Purim happening will be our Friday night Purim Party and services on February 18. Please mark your calendar and plan to come in costume for some Purim KEF! (FUN!)
I hope you are all staying safe and healthy. As per usual, please check in about our reminders below...
Please be sure to read below to remind yourselves of our COVID protocols, but there are a couple of very important things to highlight here: 1. We are encouraging everyone to wear KN95s or KF94s as the CDC has put out guidance that these masks are superior in protecting against Omicron than cloth masks. 2. We will not be doing any eating inside. Even though it will be cold, we will go outside for snack. We will be outside for no more than 10-15 minutes, but PLEASE make sure your child is dressed for the weather. ALL children...grades PreK through 12th.
Low of 32 and high of 45 (between 9 am-12:30 pm in Dunwoody) - We will be inside for the majority of the day, but will snack outside - please help your children dress for the weather.
Mark your calendars:
K, 1, 2 Sustainibility Program - Sunday, 2/27
Purim Party - Friday, 3/18
Purim Carnival with a Cause - Sunday, 3/20
Practice Passover Seder - Sunday, 3/27
Please remember, if you are dropping off or picking up in CARPOOL, this is only for students in 3rd grade and older. Any student younger than 3rd grade will need to be dropped off & picked up at their classroom. If you need EARLY PICK-UP, please send an email ahead of time or a note with your child. EVERY child has to be signed out in the office. We will have your child waiting for you in the office at the time of requested pick up.
Also, each child should have a refillable water bottle and an extra mask with them. Additionally, if you want to send a nut-free snack with your child, feel free. Challah is served as snack.
COVID protocols:
Continuing to wear masks inside (KN95/KF94 encouraged).
Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building.
Snacks outside (dress for the weather).
When NOT to come to class:
If a student or a member of your family has a suspected or confirmed case of coronavirus, no member of the family should come to religious school.
If there is a coronavirus case confirmed at your child’s Monday-Friday school that requires them to be quarantined from class, we require that all your children be quarantined from Sunday School as well.
If any member of the family has any of these symptoms, the student should not come to class:
If your child tests positive, please let us know as soon as possible. If the positive case happens within 2 days of being in our building, we must notify families and follow the quarantine guidance of the Georgia Department of Community Health, which means affected classrooms will be virtual the following week.
