I can not believe how quickly our year flies by! Please mark your calendar with the following dates:
Sunday, 5/1 - Sunday School
Sunday, 5/8 - NO School (Happy Mother's Day!)
Sunday, 5/15 - Sunday School
Sunday, 5/22 - Sunday School - LAST DAY!
It is amazing to move around the building (inside and out) and see the learning and growing that is happening. Please scroll down for pictures from last Sunday and a few brief synopses.
PARENTS: Did you know that the Beit Cafe has reopened in our lobby! Parents, feel free to come on in, grab a cup of coffee, hang out and schmooze. We'd love to see you! Please remember, coffee/tea is only for parents, teachers, and madrichim.
1st graders used the game of Telephone to learn about Lashon Hara. Lashon Hara is translated as "evil tongue" and usually refers to repeating gossip or rumors.
Our 1st grade curriculum focuses on learning about mitzvot, commandments, and how we, as Jews, are meant to live our lives.
2nd graders had a big day learning about King David. They even made harps in Art!
Here they are pictured in Hebrew with Morah Evelyn learning the colors of the rainbow.
4th graders focused on finishing their Modern Plagues project from Passover with Morah Denise. The students took a deep dive into Passover and then synthesized that information into our current events.
Rabbi Spike and his class worked on learning all about the 10 Commandments. The class had a lively conversation as they explored the ins and outs of our commandments.
5th graders focused on Yom Hashoah with Morah Sigal, learning about Holocaust Remembrance day, how it is observed in Israel, and why we it is important.
Mr. E and his class were able to have Art with Morah Laura. They made the most beautiful hamsas!
There is always so much going on in the building on a Sunday morning. I love not only the learning, but also the connected communities that are being formed.
