The Book of Esther: “Therefore the Jews of the villages...made the 14th day of the month of Adar a day of gladness and feasting, a holiday, and of sending portions to one another (mishloach manot ). From this text we are taught to send gifts of food to each other and another text in Esther talks about giving gifts to those in need on the holiday of Purim. At this event we will create gift baskets for friends and those in need!
