Temple Emanu-El is a sacred community.  We need to ‘be there’ for our congregants, no matter what they are going through and we need to be that bright light in a world that can sometimes seem very dark.

There is a rabbinic expression, “Ayn Kemach, Ayn Torah.”  Literally, it translates as ‘Without flour, there is no Torah.”  It means that we must first have our basic needs met in order for the Torah that emanates from Temple Emanu-El to thrive.

We have an amazing and committed group of volunteers at Temple Emanu-El, and yet, there is no avoiding the fact that finances are the other crucial component to maintaining our vibrant congregation.

Unfortunately, many of our congregants fall into our reduced dues program due to challenging life circumstances.  It may surprise you that after confidential reviews and approvals, a significant percentage of our potential revenue is not collected due to Temple Emanu-El’s position that no Jewish family should be turned away because of their inability to pay.  We ask that you consider making an Enhanced Dues donation to support our fellow congregants through their financial challenges and to continue the growing, thriving spiritual home we have all come to appreciate and rely on. 

As a small token of our appreciation, your Enhanced Dues contribution of $1,200 or above will provide you with a VIP parking place in our Temple Emanu-El parking lot, allowing you to avoid the shuttle service during High Holidays.
