Rabbi Rachael Miller

My phone buzzes a lot during the day. One of the main sources of the buzzing are news alerts from Haaretz, Jerusalem Post, i24 News, and the Times of Israel. If I’m not in a meeting with my phone tucked away, my eyes usually do a quick glance to see the latest, especially when I hear the little buzz comes through multiple times (indicating that multiple sources are releasing headlines).

On Tuesday morning (August 27) my eyes swelled with tears. Another hostage was rescued from captivity. Farhan al Qadi came home alive.

The reality is that most folks in the wider community don’t keep these news sources at their fingertips. However many have reached out to Jewish friends looking for answers.

A group of local Jewish women recognized the increase in buzz and genuine concern and created the program, You+2. You+2 educates, builds understanding, and promotes dialogue about Jewish/Israel’s history, the Israel-Hamas war, and local and worldwide antisemitism amongst people of all faiths.

This Wednesday, September 4th, bring yourself (the you) and two non-Jewish friends (the +2) and join the 140+ neighbors who have already registered for the program. doors open at 6:30pm and the program begins at 7:00pm.

Those who have attended the program at other institutions around the city have said this is an A+ use of your time.

You and your friends must register. More information and to register, go HERE.
