Rabbi Rachael Miller

One of the defining characteristics of Temple Emanu-El is our identity as a Reform, Zionist congregation. Israel is deeply important to us—it is central to Judaism, the Jewish people, and Jewish civilization.

While we’ve had to cancel and postpone several opportunities in the past few years we are thrilled to announce that between now and June of 2026 we are planning THREE unique trips to Israel.

Trip #1: Solidarity Mission to Israel

Dates: December 8–17, 2025

Led by: Rabbi Spike

For: Temple Emanu-El Adults

This is a mission of action and compassion. We’ll volunteer at sites in need, engage with Israeli soldiers and citizens, learn from experts, and bear witness to the events of October 7th and the two years of war that followed. This is not a sightseeing tour. It’s an opportunity to stand in solidarity and make a meaningful impact.

Trip #2: The Family Adventure in Israel

Dates: June 1–12, 2026

Led by: Rabbi Rachael & Rabbi Max

For: Temple Emanu-El Families

This is our classic congregational journey through Israel. You’ll explore our Jewish narrative, connect with Israel’s diverse population, and experience the richness of our heritage. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, this trip offers something for everyone.

Trip #3: The Schiffer Teen Israel Trip

Dates: June 1–12, 2026

Led by: Rabbi Spike

For: Post-Confirmation Teenagers

Thanks to the generosity of congregant Edwin Schiffer, our teens can journey on a highly subsidized trip to Israel alongside their fellow confirmands. This trip runs parallel to the Family Adventure, with separate itineraries and accommodations. We’ll reunite for Shabbat in Jerusalem.

There is no better way to experience Israel than with your fellow congregants and rabbis. These trips are more than travel—they’re spiritual journeys, acts of solidarity, and opportunities for deep connection.

Space is limited. We welcome private conversations to answer any questions you may have. We sincerely hope you’ll join us in Israel.
