Time to Make the Time!

Rabbi Rachael Miller

Yep, a Jewish holiday is falling at what could be seen as an “inconvenient” time.

That’s right, Sh’mini Atzeret/Simchat Torah kicks off on a Monday night. The evening of Monday, October 13th, to be exact.

We’ll have a little nosh at 5:30pm, and we will begin our Simchat Torah Celebration in the sanctuary at 6:00pm. There will be Klezmer music, dancing, and the chance to see our entire Torah unrolled and wrapped around the community.

But we can only make it happen if you come! Truly, we won’t have enough people to hold up the unrolled Torah scroll in its entirety if you’re not there. YOU, yes YOU, who is taking the time to read this message, we need YOU to join us.

Simchat Torah is all about new beginnings. We will hear the final words of our Torah and begin again with Bereishit.

Let’s make the time for this communal celebration. Mark your calendar now, invite a friend – or two – and we’ll see you there.

But first, we’ll also see you for Yom Kippur and various Sukkot activities in the meantime.

Let’s finish out these High Holy Days strong.

Shavua Tov,

Rabbi Rachael
