Well… I’m back (for a short while, I’m heading to Jerusalem to study in July) for a sabbatical, and it was everything that I hoped it would be. I’ll share a story (and lesson learned) or two at Shabbat services tomorrow night, in what I hope will be a light and spiritually uplifting service. The White Rose Society is a grassroots organization dedicated to celebrating and honoring individuals who actively combat anti-Semitism in their communities. The effort pays homage to the courageous resistance group, The White Rose Movement, that was founded in the early 1940s by non-Jewish students at the University of Munich to fight the Nazis. Though these heroic students were executed, their courage continues to inspire future generations to take a moral stand.

Jewish Teen Writing Contest, $500 prize
Joseph’s Inkwell is a writing contest for Jewish teens (created by Jewish teens) with a $500 prize. It's always been a struggle for young people to get published and for young Jews right now it's more difficult than ever. Joseph’s Inkwell creates a space for our voices to be heard. Jewish students can send in submissions to one of two categories (either fiction or nonfiction) by August 1st, 2024.
