High Holy Day Information & Logistics

 

New This Year: Mobile Tickets

High Holy Day Tickets will be delivered to your email. Look for an email on Friday, September 20th.  The email will arrive from SimpleTix Orders. Directions on how to use your mobile tickets or print your tickets will be included. There are no physical tickets mailed this year.

Service Schedule

This year, several services will be held away from the Temple Emanu-El building. We will be at Brook Run Park, Morgan Falls Park, and Arlington Memorial Park. Pay close attention to the schedule for locations, dates, and times.

Deadline Wednesday, September 18

The Yizkor Book is a great way to remember loved ones after they have passed. Their name will be added to the prayerbook used during our afternoon Yizkor Service on Yom Kippur.

Childcare is available for children aged 6 months to 5 years for select services. In order for us to provide proper supervision and space for your child, send us your reservation by September 18th. We will not be able to accept walk-ins.

Help Usher

We need help welcoming congregants and visitors, checking tickets, assisting with parking, and operating the sanctuary doors.

All High Holy Day Ushers will receive a parking pass to park in the Temple Emanu-El lot for services.

Purchase Extra Tickets

As a member of Temple Emanu-El, family memberships receive 2 tickets, and single memberships receive 1 ticket.  Tickets are not required for member children under the age of 32. The cost for additional tickets for our members' friends or family is $99 each.

As we approach the High Holy Days, we invite you to join us for a spiritually uplifting Selichot Service. This special evening marks the beginning of our journey toward reflection, repentance, and renewal.

Brook Run Park Services

In addition to our sanctuary service at Temple Emanu-El, we are excited to offer the option for you to join us at the Brook Run Park Amphitheater for Temple Emanu-El's High Holy Day Services in the park.

Young Children's Service (Ages 0-8)

Children ages 0 through 8 are invited to participate in our fun and energetic Young Children’s Service on both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

Join us for this special High Holy Day ritual that allows people of all ages to connect. The brief ceremony is a time when we metaphorically cast away our missteps into a body of water using breadcrumbs.

Clean-up of the Morgan Falls Shoreline.

Afterward, hang out by the water or stay and play on the playground.

Please bring birdseed NOT bread.

Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt. Vernon Hwy, Sandy Springs, GA 30328

This meaningful tradition allows an additional level of connection and reflection with our deceased loved ones.  Our short service is conducted standing together in a circle, accompanied by prayerful songs of memory and mourning.

Rabbi Larry Sernovitz joined Hillels of Georgia as the CEO after a 16-year career serving the Jewish community and brings with him extensive knowledge in Jewish community leadership and organizing.

This powerful service is an opportunity to find spiritual healing and support. More than just prayer, we delve into what it means to enter the New Year with strength and support.

5:15pm - 6:00pm

After the Yizkor Service, join us for the Neilah Service.  This is a powerful and emotional culmination of the day’s prayers, as worshippers seek to have their names inscribed in the Book of Life for the coming year. This service concludes with the sounding of the shofar, marking the end of Yom Kippur.

Friday, October 25

6:30pm - 8:00pm

Join us for a joyous and spirited celebration of Simchat Torah, as we mark the conclusion of the annual Torah reading cycle and the beginning of a new one. This festive occasion is filled with dancing, singing, and a deep sense of community.  Kids from grades K, 1, and 2 will become consecrated during the service.
